The Last Starfighter (1984) – Lorimar Entertainment and Universal Pictures

The 2023 program for Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival is out, and it is an absolute cracker of a festival! We’re bursting with joy because Return Chute: The survival of a small town video store has been chosen to screen with the 1984 adventure classic The Last Starfighter in Sydney and Brisbane.

Return Chute is a short documentary about Rod O’Hara, the current owner of the iconic Bellingen Video Connection, which is still open and battling to survive where so many others have fallen. The film celebrates connection and community, the passion of previous store owners, the nostalgia of the video store experience and their role in preserving screen arts, especially classic, cult, and rare films.

We’re stoked that Return Chute will be flying alongside The Last Starfighter.
